My name is Joseph Thomas (“JT”) and I’m a holistic healing arts practitioner. I practice several therapies including massage, energy work, sound bathing, and Kambo.
I received my massage education at Maui Academy of Healing Arts in Hawaii, where I learned Lomi Lomi, Deep Tissue, Swedish, Hot Stones, Thai, Ashiatsu, Reflexology, Reiki, and Cranio Sacral.
Before entering the healing arts, I worked as an attorney, real estate broker, and college educator. I decided to practice massage therapy because I felt called to live more embodied, to step into self actualization through healing touch, and to help others to awaken as agents of their own healing.
My style is grounded, engaged, dynamic. I work slowly, intentionally, and intuitively. I enjoy using a foundation of Ashiatsu and ancient Lomi Lomi while encouraging relaxation and deep tissue release. I adapt my style as needed to meet the desires of each individual.
For me, healing touch is most impactful when it represents a synergy between the therapist and the client. I see my role as holding space to help the client drop into their own awareness and activate their body's own healing processes. While affecting the physical body is an essential part of my work, my ultimate goal is to affect the energy that’s moving through the body, as this is ultimately the root of all ailments. I seek to nurture the divinity of all my clients through healing touch grounded in calm presence and sincere care. While I am happy to serve anyone who comes to me, I am uniquely qualified to hold healing space for
(1) people dealing with addiction, (2) people practicing polyamory or ethical non-monogamy and, (3) BIPOC folks (especially black people) needing culturally competent care.
My specialties include: Lomi Lomi, Deep Tissue, Ashiatsu, Vibration, Intuitive Touch, and Energy Work
